The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund – CEPF and the International Institute of Education of Brazil – IEB have launched a video web series presenting several conservation actions in strategic regions of the Brazilian Cerrado alongside local partners.
These are successful actions carried out by organizations that had the technical and financial support of CEPF to work with sustainable fruit extraction, collection of native seeds, restoration of degraded areas, conservation of endemic species, environmental monitoring, creation of protected areas and private reserves, and strengthening of traditional and indigenous communities that inhabit the Cerrado. The videos present some results of the efforts of the past five years since CEPF’s began to act in the Brazilian Cerrado through the Regional Implementation Team and the IEB.
The large network of partners formed since 2016 with more than 80 civil society organizations in strategic areas (such as the North of Minas Gerais, Chapada dos Veadeiros in Goiás, among others in DF, TO, MA, MT and MS) collaborate for a more sustainable occupation of this highly endangered biome. Discover the work of some of these organizations, such as COPABASE, Grande Sertão, Angá, Brazilian Merganser Project, Cerrado Seeds Network, Tiradentes Educational Institute, Quilombo Kalunga Association, LAPIG, Funatura, and Indigenous Work Center.
