General objective: To propose actions to prevent extinction of the Brazilian Merganser in the Veadeiros-Pouso Alto-Kalungas Corridor, Chapada dos Veadeiros (Goiás), in order to evaluate and quantify the influence of the dispersal process on the choice of habitats critically used by the species. threatened.

Specific objectives:

  • Know the habitat use strategies adopted by the species throughout its annual cycle.
  • To analyze the changes caused by environmental impacts on land and water use, deforestation and human interference that may cause damage to the reproduction, feeding and survival of the species.
  • Establish education and communication actions on the species in schools, tourism trade and local communities.
