Poke'exa ûti: managing and protecting our territory for the autonomy of the Terena people

General objective:  This project proposes to support the elaboration of the Territorial and Environmental Management Plans (PGTAs) of the Buriti, Cachoeirinha and Taunay-Ipegue indigenous lands, occupied by the Terena people in Mato Grosso do Sul. With the management of territories and natural resources, as well as territorial monitoring walks and georeferenced data production. All activities will be developed in dialogue with the Terena People's Council and will actively involve young people, women, community leaders and elders. Thus, it is expected to collect diagnostic and monitoring data that will enable the Terena communities to plan actions to ensure their participation in the management of territories and natural resources.

Specific objectives:

  • Enabling the Terena communities of Buriti, Cachoeirinha and Taunay-Ipegue TIs to plan associated actions to ensure their active participation in processes related to the management of territories and natural resources.
  • To collect diagnostic and monitoring data on the territorial and natural resources management of the three Terena areas on screen with their respective PGTAs in perspective.
  • Build new perspectives for improving the management of agro-ecological productive landscapes in the Cerrado sul mato-grossense region.

Support amount: U$ 53,445.85

Duration: 17 months (June 2019 to December 2020)
